Simpson's Forensic Medicine

Richard Shepherd, "Simpson's Forensic Medicine"
A Hodder Arnold Publication | 2003 | ISBN: 0340764228 | 208 pages | PDF | 10,5 MB

(Arnold) St. George's Medical and Dental School, London, UK. Introductory textbook deals with the interface between medicine and law, in terms of medical examination of both the living and the dead for criminal purposes. Discusses ethical issues as well as the basic concepts and principles. Abundant halftone illustrations.

Summary: Simple and Concise
Rating: 5

This book is a fantastic introduction to forensic medicine. It covers every aspect of forensic medicine but it doesn't get bogged down with details that most students don't need or want to know. I, for instance, would like to have a more extensive chapter about drugs - but that is the function of comprehensive textbooks, which Simpson's doesn't claim to be.

The text is very readable and the book is beautifully organized. There are many pictures which really helps visual learners like myself remember information. If you want a simple and quick to read book, this is the one. If you are looking for an extensive textbook look for another.
